The enticing aroma of Bergamot is cooling and sweet with tangy citrus, crisp green notes and subtle florals. This uplifting and juicy, well rounded essential oil is very popular in aromatherapy and perfumery. It is pressed from the organic peels of a small, bitter, pear shaped bergamot citrus grown in Italy. Bergamot is used extensively in perfumery for its sweet freshness. It can be found in many high class perfumes and is particularly suited for citrus colognes, chypres, fougeres, sweet florals and fantasy bases.
Although our FCF Bergamot is bergapten free and non photosensitizing, we still recommend using this essential oil carefully and always follow proper dilution guidelines. FCF (furanocoumarin-free) is an acronym that indicates the chemical constituent(s) responsible for extreme sensitization of the skin to sunlight has been removed, in the case of Bergamot oil, the specific furanocoumarin being bergapten.
