This organically produced Chocolate Absolute is extracted from the bean of the Theobroma cacao tree, the source of chocolate and cocoa butter. We source fair trade organic cacao from Ecuador to start. The subsequent roasting and CO2 processing of the cacao beans takes place in France. It is extracted through high grade CO2 technology that does not involve any potentially harmful hexane residues. Although we cannot recommend its consumption, it is food grade.

A note on absolutes: Absolutes are highly concentrated aromatic materials. Their aroma is best observed in alcohol or carrier oil. Try diluting into one of our premium carrier oils or into alcohol at 5%, 10% or 20% and see how the scent will subtley change.
