The blue color is most apparent right after distillation and eventually changes into an amber green color as the blue components break down with time. True Spikenard oil is increasingly scarce as the demand for the essential oil increases and the supply of wild plant material becomes more and more limited. Our Spikenard essential oil is derived from the wild gathered roots grown at over 10,000 ft elevation in the Nepalese Himalayas. The roots are consciously harvested in an effort to sustain this luxurious plant material for years to come. 

This oil works wonders in helping to achieve deep sleep when used with other oils such as Cannabis sativa, Chamomile or Lavender. A heavenly addition to a foot bath and noted in Ayurvedic practice for calming the mind and preventing loss of hair. The scent of Spikenard oil is tenacious, heavy and deep, with cool woody notes and exotic musky animalic undertone.
